Start with the listening task

Choose a genre when programming matters more than location. Music styles, news, talk, sport, public service, and specialist cultural programming answer different needs, so a global popularity order is rarely the best first filter.

Broad tags can hide subgenres, mixed schedules, and bilingual blocks. Use a second clue such as country, language, or a known broadcaster after opening the genre page, then compare at least two streams.

Treat genre tags as community-maintained metadata

A genre label does not provide a live programme schedule and may lag behind a format change. The broadcaster homepage and actual stream are stronger evidence when the distinction matters. RadioFM Pro does not invent presenters, rotations, awards, or editorial rankings.

Stations with several tags may legitimately mix programmes, while duplicated or overly broad tags can reduce precision. Report obviously misleading metadata and keep uncertain claims out of saved listening decisions.

Build a dependable genre shortlist

Play a candidate, check that the audio matches the intended format, and save only a service you can identify again. Codec and bitrate influence delivery but do not rank artistic or journalistic quality.

If a stream fails, stay within the same genre and compare another result. Then use country or language to make the shortlist more relevant instead of generating many highly specific search pages.

Editorial method

Genre pages organize source tags without inferring schedules, editorial quality, or a permanent station format.
